Sleeping Beauty

Toad Tuesday

It is hard to believe that Addison is now 1 week old! Tuesday was our first day all on our own and we had a fun little photo shoot. Well, I had fun. I think she just tolerated it for my sake. Grandma Donna bought her the toad and since she had a onesie to match, I couldn't resist. Poor girl.

A Family Matter

Well, Addison is now almost 6 days old. Wow! I can't believe it has almost been a whole week. And what a week it has been. We have had a whirlwind of activity around here as family and friends have stopped in to show their love and support.

I think we are pretty close to having introduced her to almost all of our family, with the exception of those who live up North. But, hopefully it won't be too long before we can visit with them as well. We have loved all the wonderful gifts, cards, food and most importantly the overwhelming show of love and support. Check out some of the adorable shots with the family. Love you all!!

A Mommy's Moment

Well...I don't even know where to start. The past few days have been an amazing whirlwind of activity. As you have all heard by now, after several days of being known as "little girl" and "Baby Girl Hunter", we have finally named our little bundle Addison Margaret Grace Hunter. I know it seems a little long for such a little person. But, we love it. Addision is a name that just seemed to suit her. Margaret and Grace are after our mother's mothers. We felt that since the new grandmas played such a strong and integral role in the happy healthy delivery of our little girl that we wanted to honour the strong women that brought them into the world.
The labour and delivery went so smooth (except for about the last ten minutes, you moms know what 10 I am talking about!). I couldn't have asked for a better birthing experience and I totally contribute it to Curtis being such a solid rock and our fantastic midwives. I am sure I will share more about the whole story as I get to speak with each of you in person. Actually, it went so well that Addison was born at 6:36 om and we were headed home by 10:30 pm. Yep, the same day. It was indescribable to be driving home with a little life that was only four hours old. But, since then she has been fantastic. We have been working at getting her on a feeding schedule and that has been going very well so far.
We have been discovering a couple of nicknames that seem to suit her already. "Sqeaker", because she makes these tiny little sqeaking sounds to just let everyone know that there is something that she is needing. but, let me tell you, if you don't react soon enough...that squeak becomes a full out screech. And, people seem to have taken to calling her "peanut". I think it is because she is just SO TINY!! Born at only 7 lbs, even her newborn outfits and diapers seem to be roomy. I am sure that will quicly change.
We will try to keep everyone up to date on her growth and progress. Thank you to everyone who has shown us such tremendous love and support. We have loved all the wonderful phone calls, gifts, cards and visits. We love you all!!
